Module 7: Applied Corporate Finance & Valuation
9 May 2014

This module built on the concepts covered in the previous modules on corporate finance and asset markets. The objective was to understand how firms create value through restructuring assets, liabilities and organizational design. Topics covered included: (i) equity valuation, (ii) mergers and acquisitions, and (iii) highly leveraged transactions (private equity investments).

We found this to be one of the most applicable modules,  with lots of detailed discussion and walkthrough of the case studies, simulation and group work. Prof Goyal was very clear and well-paced; he came with superb communications skills and was able to stimulate thinking. It was great to learn from fellow classmates who have practical experience and are well informed of different markets.
