How to Apply


Before you start to write an application, we encourage you to have a Preliminary Interview with our admissions staff.  Take the opportunity to get advice on your candidacy as well as to clarify any questions you may have regarding our program.  Please complete the form and submit your CV, and our staff will contact you to schedule a Preliminary Interview.



A complete set of application materials to the HKUST-NYU Stern Master of Science in Global Finance program should include:

  1. A completed online application form
  2. Resume
  3. Official academic transcripts of studies at universities
  4. Two letters of recommendations
  5. A passport photo
  6. Copy of identification documents (e.g. passport or Hong Kong Identity Card)
  7. Results of TOEFL or IELTS for applicants whose native language is not English and who have not received a university degree from an institution where English is the medium of instructions
  8. A non-refundable application fee of USD 150 or HKD 1,170

All items above should be submitted via the online application platform.  We only required soft copies of official academic transcripts and TOEFL/IELTS results (if applicable) during the application stage.  The original documents will only be required upon confirming an admissions offer.

The upcoming Class of 2016 will commerce in November 2015.  If you are interested in applying, please submit your application as soon as possible.  To get advice on your candidacy, you can complete the Preliminary Information Form and our staff will contact you shortly.



Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee soon after submissions.  Applicants will be invited to an interview if shortlisted.  In general, admissions results can be released within 4 weeks after receiving a full set of application.



The upcoming Class of 2016 will commence in November 2015.

For participates who do not have the right to abode in Hong Kong, please allow sufficient time for student visa application, which normally takes around 8 weeks.
